Gary joined in 2005 as a Senior Consultant. As well as advising clients, Gary enjoys responsibility for producing our highly-regarded research materials on new legislation and developments within the pensions' industry. (You can find these under "Our Research".)
Gary plays an active role in the NAPF’s South East Group and recently served as the Group's Chairman. He has also been a judge at the FT's Pensions and Investment Provider Awards and deputises on an editorial panel.
Recent client engagements have included assisting a sponsor to negotiate the closure of its schemes to future benefit accrual, helping sponsors to negotiate over funding issues and advising in relation to section 75 debts.
Gary started his career at Bacon & Woodrow (latterly Hewitt Associates), where he had several Scheme Actuary appointments and gained many years' experience advising both major multinationals and smaller clients on all aspects of their pension arrangements.
Gary graduated in Mathematics at Jesus College, Cambridge and qualified as an actuary in 1990.
In his spare time, Gary plays golf to varying degrees of success and enjoys pub quizzes, rock concerts and the theatre.
