Hamish Wilson has a degree in Pure Mathematics and qualified as an actuary at Watsons in 1984 after a period as an investment analyst with a leading firm of stockbrokers. The following year he joined Bacon & Woodrow and became a partner in 1987.

For the vast majority of his time, he was the lead partner advising many key clients on all aspects of their pension arrangements - design, funding, investment, accounting and transaction issues. He was lucky to experience one of the first switches to money purchase and pioneered many of the design features of subsequent switches.

While he enjoys the intellectual demands of pensions he takes more pleasure from making it simple. His experience is now used in leading a niche practice which is both challenging and fun.

Married with two children (born 1989 and 1992) he spends what spare time he has trying to keep fit. This can include gardening, the triathlon sports and the occasional game of golf. After years of commuting by car it now includes the possibility of running or cycling to work!
