Monthly News Round-Up – June 2010

In a busy month for the Pensions Regulator, issues for trustees include new guidance on the assessment of sponsor covenants, revised guidance on internal controls and deadlines for improving the quality of membership records.

Of interest to employers is the Regulator’s tougher stance on “transfer incentive” exercises.  The Regulator has also issued its first Contribution Notice.

There was some good news, however, in a change of tack on restricting tax relief on high earners’ pension contributions.
