It has been another busy month!
Issues for trustees include the relaxation of the restrictions on the commutation of trivial pensions, the impending rise in the minimum retirement age from 50 to 55, the Regulator’s findings that member communications in DC schemes are often inadequate and the approval of the PPF’s proposals for the equalisation of GMPs for schemes in an assessment period.
Concerns for employers include the Government’s review of the default retirement age, an extension of the Regulator’s anti-avoidance powers and the abolition of partial exemptions from PPF levies.
